KARIM RASHID is one of the most prolific designers of his generation. Over 3000 designs in production, over 300 awards and working in over 35 countries attest to Karim’s legend of design. His award winning designs include democratic objects such as the ubiquitous Garbo waste can and Oh Chair for Umbra, interiors such as the Morimoto restaurant, Philadelphia and Semiramis hotel, Athens.
Karim collaborated with clients to create democratic design for Method and Dirt Devil, furniture for Artemide and Magis, brand identity for Citibank and Hyundai, high tech products for LaCie and Samsung, and luxury goods for Veuve Clicquot and Swarovski, to name a few.

In 1997, ACME released their first collection of fine writing tools.
Being the creative team they are and always on the forefront of design, this allowed them freedom to work with globally recognized architects to artists; musicians to tattooists; and even with Apple Corps, Ltd. For a project with The Beatles and the Le Corbusier Foundation to develop modern, timeless designs for these instruments of expression alongside watches, cufflinks, card cases, and small leather goods.
Founded in 1985 by husband-and-wife team Adrian Olabuenaga and Lesley Bailey, ACME Studio launched with a limited-edition collection of jewelry designed by Peter Shire, a member of the world-renowned Memphis Group. This graduated to working with all fourteen Memphis Designers such as Andrea Branzi, Michele De Lucchi and Ettore Sottsass.
With the need for creatives to use their hands, minds and hearts beyond the technical computer devices, in 2013, ACME developed 7FP, the world.s thinnest seven function pen.
ACME receives accolades and nominations consistently and is proud of the two 2009 National Design Award nominations in Corporate Achievement by the Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum and in 2010, in two categories: Product Design and Corporate Achievement. In 2012 ACME won the Japanese Good Design Award and in 2013 won the Good Design Award for .Hatch. from The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, the world.s first antimicrobial pen.
